December 24 Merry ChristmasThis is a quote from Simple Abundance by Sarah Ban Breathnach.
If, as Herod, we fill our lives with things, and again with things; if we consider ourselves so unimportant that we must fill every moment of our lives with action, when will we have the time to make the long, slow journey across the desert as did the Magi? Or sit and watch the stars as did the shepherds? Or brood over the coming of the child as did Mary? For each one of us, there is a desert to travel. A star to discover. And a being within ourselves to bring to life.

I hope everyone has a blessed, peaceful and Merry Christmas! December 20 His love endures forever ...Well, I have made it to Revelation in my daily reading. I checked my notebook for when I began the New Testament and it was only December of last year. Only took me a year to read the New Testament!
I saw in heaven another great and marvelous sign: seven angels with the seven last plagues—last, because with them God's wrath is completed.
I thought Praise God, there will be a day when God's wrath will be completed! Compare that with every refrain in Psalms 136
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever. 2 Give thanks to the God of gods. 3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords: 4 to him who alone does great wonders, And it goes on. His love will endure forever, for eternity, but His wrath will be completed. I remember Bro. Mears talking about 1 Corinthians 13 and saying that charity is the greatest quality because there will come a day when we will no longer need faith and hope, because God's purposes will be fulfilled in the earth. One day our hope will be realized, every promise will be fulfilled, and every knee will bow to the Lord, but there will never be an end to God's love. I just think that's beautiful. December 14 In the home streatchWell, Christmas is 11 days away. I always think my neighbors are crazy. Some of them put their trees and lights up BEFORE Thanksgiving! But now it seems Christmas will be here so fast, and it's kind of sad that everything will be coming back down. I think it's because we're traveling at light speed 24 hours a day trying to get it all done. The kids had a program at Mother's Day Out this past Tuesday. Elijah sobbed huge, shaking sobs through the whole thing. I thought Emily would be the one freaked out, but she just kind of stared at Elijah and then looked out at me and waved, "Hi Mommy!" Lydia had a line and Aidan was in it too, he rang a bell. It was really cute. The kids have been fun this year with Christmas. When we drive at night the twins love the lights! Emily shouts, "Mommy look at that house!" the whole time, to the point that Lydia told her to stop saying that because she is not the boss of Mommy. Which is hard for Emily to grasp, she thinks she's the boss of the entire world. When I'm chaning Elijah's diaper (I know they should be potty trained) she leans over me and tries to grab the tapes of the fresh diaper and put it on him. There's an advantage of twins, one can diaper the other! |
